when Jaishree Misra decided to present her take on Rani Lakshmibai in a book over a book reading and cocktails, the evening ended up being a well-attended one.
To begin with, there was the reading followed by a Q and A with Nupur Basu. That was followed by cocktails and lots of chit-chat, even as folk rushed to pick up a copy of the book.
From Rekha Hande in a blue top, to Manjusha in all-black with her hair in a ponytail for a change, to Leena Singh, who was spotted chatting on the phone in between, to Sushma Haksar, Rajdeep and Lakshmi Puri, Shreen and Ravi Malani, Ananth Iyer and Pragatti Toshniwal — everyone got genned up on India’s warrior queen, got a quick history update and had an enjoyable evening too.
