'One felt nice. We did it twice': Ee Sala Nu Cup Namde
Royal Challengers Bengaluru completed a dream title defence on Sunday night, defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in Ahmedabad to claim their second consecutive IPL trophy. The victory further cemented RCB's place among the league's elite and gave Bengaluru another reason to celebrate a team that has become synonymous with the city's spirit.
'Ee Sala Nu Cup Namdu'
The celebrations were joyous, but captain Rajat Patidar ensured there was also a moment of reflection. Moments after leading RCB to a second successive IPL title, Rajat dedicated the victory to the 11 fans who lost their lives in the tragic stampede that followed last year's championship celebrations. During the post-match presentation, he first saluted the fans with a familiar refrain, “So this one is for you again, RCB fans. Ee Sala Nu Cup Namdu.” Later, on what was also his 33rd birthday, he added an emotional tribute, “You lost your fans... family members. I want to dedicate this trophy to them.” It was a poignant reminder that even in triumph, some memories remain close to the heart.
Virushka steal the spotlight
The trophy celebrations were filled with memorable moments, but none drew louder cheers than Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. From a flying-kiss exchange to dancing on the field long after the final wicket fell, the couple soaked in the celebrations alongside teammates, support staff and family members. Videos of them laughing, embracing and dancing quickly flooded social media. Virat was also seen sharing a celebratory dance with batting coach Dinesh Karthik as the festivities continued late into the night.
A family affair
Players were joined by spouses, children and parents as they celebrated the title together. From Kohli and Anushka to Rajat Patidar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya, the squad made sure their loved ones were part of the historic occasion. The scenes were a reminder that behind every successful season is a support system cheering from the stands and the sidelines.
Mr Nags on Kohli's match-winning fifty
Danish Sait, better known as Mr Nags, who has been part of the franchise for over 13 years, praised Kohli's match-winning innings. “Virat's fifty was incredibly important and, like always, he was the hero who took us over the line. I couldn't have asked for a better ending and a better person to bring the trophy home,” he says.
