The highlight of the event was the presence of Hollywood hotties George Clooney and Sharon Stone, who attended the opening night of the festival. And needless to say, Clooney broke a thousand hearts when he walked the red carpet with gal pal Sara Larson.
Sharon looked ravishing as always in a LBD and cropped hair. BT also saw Kannada star Ramya catching up with Clooney, who told her that he loved Indian films!
There was also a gala dinner hosted by Miss Stone herself for a charity foundation — but her fans weren’t too happy when they saw Sharon break down while talking about her association with various causes. Celebrated author Paulo Coelho was also a guest of honour, as was Gloria Estefan who charmed the audience with her hits — Estefan was so candid with the press that she answered all questions, including what she ate for Christmas and the name of her cat! There were also quite a few popular faces from back home and leading the brigade was Mira Nair who was there for the screening of her much acclaimed film AIDS Jaago. Her cast which included good friend Shabana Azmi, Raima Sen, namma hudugi Ramya were also present. BT also met up with Pooja Batra, Pooja Bedi, Kabir Bedi accompanied by companion Parveen Dusanj and Akbar Khan, Riya Sen, Praveen Sippy and Manish Acharya of Loins of Punjab fame. The event ended on a high note with a concert by Gloria Estefan and a screening of the Kite Runner in the presence of its author Khaled Hosseini.
