Motorsport spirit takes over Bengaluru at its first F1 fan park
Being surrounded by hundreds of people who understand your excitement is really special. I’ve been watching F1 since 2008, and back in the early days, I was often the only one in the room who knew about Sebastian Vettel or Lewis Hamilton. Now, seeing the sport celebrated by a community of fans is incredible
For many fans, it wasn’t just about the race but about being part of something larger. “Watching a race with a crowd is incomparable. You exchange stories, perspectives, and memories of past races. It makes the sport feel bigger and more engaging," said Merin Mandanna, an attendee at the event.
‘Bengaluru has a strong motorsports culture’
Gautam Maini, father of Indian motorsports racing driver Kush Maini, shared, “Bengaluru has always had a strong , from karting tracks to , the city has long been home to passionate F1 fans. This screening was the perfect opportunity for that community to come together and experience the race in a shared, electric atmosphere. Events like these go a long way in strengthening India’s motorsport culture, and we need more such experiences for fans.”When people watch an F1 race today, it’s not just about engineering or who finishes on the podium. Fans get invested in storylines, strategies, and drivers’ journeys. That emotional connection is what makes cheering for someone finishing 10th just as thrilling
