This was a film premiere with a difference.
While the biggies of Sandalwood were there to catch the first show of Psycho, they were also quizzed on the Kannada culture and heritage. Those who answered the most questions were handsomely rewarded. Among those at the premiere were Ajay Rao, Dwarakish, Muralidhar Halappa, Sunil Rao, director Devdutta, producers Gurudutt and Kalpana, Hema Chaudhary, Tara, Prashanti, Jayanti with son Krishna Kumar and Jayanth Kaikini, Sri Murali, and Kitty.
