‘OUR PUJA THEME IS FOCUSED ON EMPOWERING WOMEN’
Utsav 2023 on the theme of women empowerment. “This theme is a tribute to the indomitable spirit of women who have held families together and played pivotal roles in every aspect of society.

This theme celebrates their multifaceted roles, showcasing them as embodiments of grace, and determination,” says Samrat Mitra, joint secretary, Begur Bengali Socio Cultural Trust.
“During this event, we will showcase local women’s achievements and share inspiring success stories. Our puja will showcase the strength of the incredible women in our community.”

‘MODERNITY MEETS TRADITION AT THIS PUJA PANDAL’
East Bengaluru Cultural Association is celebrating India’s tradition by actively engaging in cultural promotion through performances at various malls through their Anandamela. Similarly, Tapan Datta of
Jayamahal Cultural Association says their association will host Durga Puja in Jayamahal and will portray the village culture of Bengal. “We have a bamboo and cloth replica of the Gateway of India, we have paintings on one side reflecting achievements of the past and on the other side, paintings of the current times,” he adds.

‘AIM TO REVIVE FOLK ART THIS YEAR’
“Our theme for Durga Puja this year aims to revive and revitalise the fine craft and age-old Bengali tradition of shola through the facilitation of skill transmission and innovation,” says Mayukh Patra from Harmony Cultural Welfare Association.
Meanwhile, the Sarathi Socio Cultural Trust will celebrate this theme by highlighting the Pingla art of Bengal. “This is a captivating folk art tradition, known for its vivid, rural-themed depictions,” says Sulagna Chaudhury, a member of the association.

We believe that Durga Puja is a fest that not only celebrates the victory of good over evil but also epitomises inclusivity the way it should be
