Bengaluru to witness traditional folk performances this month

Karnataka Chitrakala Paarishat is all set to enthrall audiences in the coming days. The venue will be hosting several performances over each weekend. Right from traditional art form like Dollu Kunitha to Hulvesha and more, there will be events for audiences. Here's a list:
January 3 - Hulivesha Live Folk Dance: Hulivesha is a folk dance unique to coastal Karnataka.Hulivesha is performed during Navratri to honour the Goddess Durga. It is said to have originated in the Udupi District of Karnataka.
January 10 - Dollu Kunitha performance: Dollu Kunitha is a major popular drum dance of Karnataka, Dollu refers to the drum and Kunitha means dance in Kannada accompanied by singing.
January 17 - The Puppet Show: Puppetry is a form of theater or performance that involves the manipulation of puppets – inanimate objects, often resembling some type of human or animal figure, that are animated or manipulated by a human called a puppeteer.
All the performances will be held at 5.30 on the premises. Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath has 18 galleries. 13 of these galleries carry a permanent collection of paintings, sculptures and folk art. The other galleries are rented out for exhibitions of works by artists of repute. The folk art collection showcases Mysore paintings and Leather Puppets. The Parishat runs The College Of Fine Arts, a visual arts college.
