Bengaluru streets empty as bandh takes effect
A state-wide bandh brought the bustling Bengaluru to a near standstill, with streets across the city remaining largely deserted for the first half of the day. Later, people seemed to be venturing out.
The bandh was called by Pro-Kannada organisations after a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus conductor was assaulted in Belagavi for not speaking Marathi.
