The annual Bengaluru
Poetry Festival
is all set to go
online
this year. The poetry festival, which is a gala affair every year and sees many celebrities, writers and poets in attendance, will be held online this year, owing to the pandemic. The poetry festival, organised by Atta Galatta, will be held on August 9 this year, where all the content will be released on their website and social media handles.
The online version will feature readings, videos, performances, interviews and more. The 5th edition of the poetry festival will feature artists like Amit Majumdar, Rajiv Mohabir, Tabish Khair, Kanishka Gupta, Meera Dasgupta among others online. This edition will be an interesting mix of poetry readings, performances, explorations of the connections between the real world and poetry,
discussions
about poetry and opportunities to learn through craft talks by some leading poets.
The poetry festival last year saw people form all walks of life in attendance at the venue. The
event
was a mix of performances, readings and discussions by Irshad Kamil, Sadhguru, Tenzin Tsundue, Vanamala Vishwanatha and many others. The festival aims to provide a space for verse to be engaged with — by poets, readers, performers and the audience — across forms, formats and languages. With the changes the world has been going through this year, it is even more important to reiterate a message of hope and togetherness across borders, languages and people, say the organisers.
