Bengaluru gets a funky makeover

Fashionistas in the city were in for a treat recently. Hakim Aalim, one of India’s leading hairstylists, opened his latest salon in Bengaluru, which is in partnership with Kona, the owner of Kona Café. The evening saw the who’s who of the city in attendance, including Sandalwood actresses Sanjjanna and Teena Ponnappa.
Calling the people in the city fashionable, Hakim said, “People here are cool.They like to experiment and are quite colourful. The focus at Hakim’s Aalim is quality. Our hairdressers are stylists as well, and advice clients about what will look good on them.” Kona, whose café will feature in all of Hakim’s salons in south India, says, “Having a café in a salon makes the place more relaxing. The menu has my personal recipes, but it is not restricted to just that. There will be something new on offer every day.” Sanjjanaa, who launched the salon, said, “It’s a very cosy and beautiful salon, and is perfect for those who want to funk it up. Hakim is known for his makeovers and for making people look uber cool. This is the place to be if you want to look modern and pamper yourself by going to the spa. And the café is convenient for foodies like me.”
