CMR’s cool quotient
The students of CMR Law College have it all. But the one thing that stands out is their self-confidence. When BT visited their campus for the Bangalore Times Fresh Face 2010, powered by itimes.com, the judges were thrilled to see such talent coming to the fore.
Of moves and grooves
Whether it was singing, dancing or making the audience laugh, the students of this college did their best.
1x1 polls
Anirudh Naidu strummed away to Yellow by Coldplay, Bhavana sang Genie In a Bottle, Pratikshya Adhikari hummed a popular Bollywood number, and Amanda sang I’m Yours by Jason Mraz. Romilla Akham grooved to Dhoom Tana from Om Shanti Om, Manita set the stage on fire with her moves to Jai Ho! and Natasha had the audience rooting for her when she danced to Boom Boom.
But it was Naser MM Azzeh who had the audience and the judges spellbound with his break-dancing, and Shiv Nair impressed everyone with his beatboxing.
The stars of the show
It was a tough call to figure out the winners, but it was Naser, Pratikshya and Romilla who outshone everyone with their attitudes and performances.
No girlie talk
Well, for the gals of the Baldwin Women’s Methodist College, it’s not girlie talk in the common room that gets them interested. On Friday afternoon, when BT paid a visit to their campus to hunt for the Bangalore Times Fresh Face 2010, the fervour among students was palpable. After registering themselves in huge numbers, the girls were more than eager to get on stage and prove what they have. Even model Nioosha Beatris, one of the judges, was surprised to see the talent and excitement among students. At the introductory round, the students spoke about everything, from gay rights to Bangalore city and how they would love to turn their college in to a co-ed college.

Talent unlimited
There’s no dearth of talent here. Some showed off their acting skills, some did mimicry, while a lot played it safe with singing, dancing and ramp-walking. We had Sonal Jain trying to mimic Shah Rukh Khan on public demand, whereas there was Eleanor Sushma Slim who got the crowd applauding for her thoughts on gay rights. The girls even shook a leg on Pehali Nazar Mein and Koi Tumsa Nahi, which are not ideal dance numbers, but the gals proved that you can dance to any song. We witnessed some of the most amazing performances to some of the most unusual songs in this college. Worth appreciating was the positive spirit among the girls. They cheered for all their friends, forgetting about the competition. Way to go girls!
Oh-so Raima
Chubby cheeks, dimpled chin, sparkling eyes and a smiling face. We don’t know whether Sneha Mokashi is a teacher’s pet, but she sure was one of the judges’ pets. She had stage presence and got everyone ooh-ing and aah-ing whenever she took the stage. In fact, the judges even complimented her on how she resembles actress Raima Sen.
Two to tango
But finally, the judges Neha J and Raksha Holla a thumbs up. The girls will represent their college at the semi-finals of Bangalore Times Fresh Face 2010.
