The 20 finalists of the
Oppo Bangalore Times Fresh Face 2016
— who sashayed down the ramp in a collection by Bibi Russell during a sequence curated by style guru Prasad Bidapa, and who were styled by
Beena Sondhi
, owner of Visage Spa and Salon — looked every bit the stage professionals they hope to be some day. After introducing themselves to the judges, the contestants then wowed them with their performances. While gym boy
Nikhil Sanjeev
had the girls in the crowd cheering for him when he decided to put his chiselled torso on display during the talent round, Shwetha S Shetty’s hip-hop routine pumped up the energy in the house. Other notable performances included Heera Appachu’s jig to a medley of hit Bollywood numbers spanning four decades, Tarun Saini’s rap to his own song, and Paras Narendranath’s moves to Justin Bieber tunes. A select few then got to do the Oppo Selfie Walk, clicking funky pictures of themselves while walking the ramp.
With each contestant better than the other, the judges had a tough time narrowing the battlefield down to the final 10 who would advance to the Q&A session. Nikhil’s explanation about his choice for a tattoo if he were to get one, and Ria Nalavade’s take on whether popularity on social media or success in a career matters most, clinched the winners titles for them.
Vinay Gowda
and
Aishwarya Setty
were declared the first runners-up, while
Arpit Das
and
Shwetha Ravindran
were the second runners-up.
The winners, who will now head to the national finale of Fresh Face in Mumbai, also got an Oppo Selfie Expert F1s camera phone each from Rambo, the brand’s deputy general manager for karnataka.
