Acing the derby fashion with actor Sharmiela Mandre

An alluring black outfit, complementing pearl jewellery and a gorgeous fascinator is how Sharmiela Mandre aced the derby fashion at the recent Bangalore Oaks Derby. The actress wanted to dress up a bit differently this time as the new year has just begun. “I’m a huge Pinterest fan and I was looking at Kate Middleton from the British Royal Family for my outfit inspiration and how she always dresses up for derbies. Even the way I’ve dressed is in a typical British fashion,” says Sharmiela.
As it was a last-minute decision to go, Sharmiela decided to stick to the basics and choose the classic colours for her outfit. “You can never go wrong with the classics, a black outfit, huge pearls and gloves. Honestly, this is the most classic look possible, so I stuck to it. Plus, it was also very comfortable,” she says For Sharmiela, her derby outfit is special and exciting as it’s not something she dons very often. “I liked the concept of gloves and fascinators (hair accesory) with the outfits. I was very excited to give this look a try since this isn’t something we get to wear regularly. It’s an outfit for a very specific occasion,” adds the actor.
