It was fun-filled and informative day for not just city students, but also the general public including science enthusiasts at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) on Friday. The main objective of celebrating science day at

NIMHANS

is to kindle young minds and to show the importance of research on mental health in everyday life.

The event saw some 65 stalls spread across basic, neuro and behavioral sciences and representing 30 departments and units of NIMHANS showcasing all the activities of the Institute. More than 250 volunteers, consisted of faculty members, staff and students are involved in organising and running the stalls. Apart from this, educational videos and movies based on Mental Health and Neuroscience will be screened along with interactive sessions with faculty, throughout the day.

"This year, we also included ‘Street play’ by stage artists on psychiatric and neurological diseases which was based on the questions at two levels with increasing difficulty and the participants has to register for the same," said Dr
