Youngsters take the initiative to protect plants during summer
Due to drought like conditions prevailing in the city during summer, it is very important to keep the ground moist. Taking to this situation, city-based group –Prayas initiated the activity of keeping the soil moist and protecting the various plants and saplings. Through their initiative of ‘Green Aurangabad’, the activity of recycling dried leaves and twigs was taken up in areas like Railway station, Amrutai society, Kargil garden, Pundalik nagar, Jalan nagar etc.

In the activity they covered the existing plants with the dried material so that they are not exposed with direct sunlight, hence retaining the moisture. The trial of protecting these growing plants have been on for the past two years and taking considering the summer seasaon, taking extra care of these plants have become even more mandatory. Apart from watering them on regular bases, this activity has attracted a lot of youngsters in the city.
