Aurangabad’s Keshavrao Bhosale Natyagruha recently hosted the very popular play ‘Welcome Jindagi’. The play directed by Rajan Tamhane is a hilarious story of an old man of 102 years of age, who is still energetic, physically fit and very positive towards life. He intends to break a record of a Chinese man who lived up to 118 years of his age.
But to his disappointment, his 75 year old son has no excitement or positivity towards life.
“The old man opines that this negativity of his son around him is obstructing his plans to break the world record. So he decides to keep his son in a faraway old age home. And then the drama unfolds,” says Rajan.
The play has a third interesting character of a young sales girl from a medical shop who becomes a bridge between the father and son. “The suspense is revealed at the end as to why the old man wanted to do all this. The play is all about celebrating life each and every moment. It gives out the message that one should never think about death while they are still alive,” he says.
The play includes renowned actors like
