Taking the guru-shishya tradition ahead with Kathak recital

It was a treat for dance buffs as they witnessed dance offerings by

Kathak

and

Odissi

shishyas of

Mahagami

Gurukul that held at Rukmini Sabagriha recently. The event –Tasmai Shree Gurve Namah, a two day dance event dedicated to Odissi and Kathak saw audience in large numbers.

The program began with

Guru Vandana

in Kathak by senior disciples and teachers. Various compositions ranging from pieces of great gurus to the newer creations by Parwati Dutta based on traditional concepts were presented by disciples of Arambha, Udbhava and Samarpan course of Mahagami Gurukul. Dressed in green costumes, the young girls put forth a scintillating performance to everyone’s praises.
