Folk art and ancestral music presented at an event in Aurangabad

The three day cultural event Sarngadeva

Prasang

's morning sessions were full of information. Where evenings are filled with colourful cultural performances, mornings were for learning at the event organised by

Mahagami

, a city based dance gurukul. The third day's morning session was headed by musician Kapil Jadhav who gave information on a

musical instrument

named Sundari. To everyone's curiosity he explained the audience the origin of the instrument. He explained how his ancestors made this instrument and why the instrument is named 'Sundari'. Giving the spectators a demo, he played Raag

Bandish

which was taught to him by his grandfather with this very instrument. This was followed by Raag Gujritodi along with his fellow musicians.

As the morning proceeded, the segment also witnessed a folk art named 'Chindu Yagshagana' from Telangana. Gaddam Sammaiah, the group from Telangana impressed all as they presented

Mandodari

Parinay through this ancient form of art. Through this informative session, Aurangabadkars witnessed a one of a kind session which was never heard or seen before.
