Aurangabad’s cultural scene was at its peak as city-based Gurukul MAHAGAMI organised a unique dance concert series –Aura Aurangabad for the heritage enthusiasts of the city. As a tribute to Aurangabad Heritage through dance, the event was a treat to the cultural visitors and tourists who took back sublime memories of the ethereal dance performances that brought alive the spirit of Aurangabad heritage through depictions of various legends of the World Heritage monuments.
Day one of the seventh season of Aura Aurangabad’s evening commenced with an enthralling Odissi performance by MAHAGAMI’s ensemble where their recital began with Suryaashtakam –invocation to Surya that was followed by Batu Nritya. The event also saw Vaibhavi, a senior disciple presenting Abhinaya composition on the beauty and dance of Krishna. The performance concluded with a recitation of Ashtapadi by poet Jayadev on spring season depicting various moods of
Radha,
Krishna and Gopis.
