Aurangabadkars observed Makar Sankranti celebrations with kite festival

Marking the

festival

of Makar Sankranti, a kite festival was organised at Vidya Aranyam MGM School in Bagh Talav, Gandheli in

Aurangabad

recently. The festival Vidya-Araṇyam saw people of all age groups participate in enormous numbers to fly kites. As many as 2,500 kites were flown at the same time by enthusiasts of age group five to 80 years. With messages like ‘Jay Vidya’, ‘Shikshan Majha Dharm’ etc. on the kites, every participant made the most of flying kites.

A food mela with various kinds of snacks and traditional food cooked on earthen stove (chul/chulha) was also arranged so that everyone attending enjoyed the experience of rural tradition. Students from MGM, Institute of Hotel Management, Nanasaheb Kadam Agriculture College, Food Technology College and Agricultural Biotechnology participated at the food stalls to give the guests a traditional experience.
