The city of Aurangabad recently witnessed a one of a kind Indian classical dance recital with the show
Harihar
that was presented by classical dancers Swarali Muley and Prajakta Rajurkar. The two artistes who are pupils of Ketki Nevpurkar and Guru Sucheta Bhide Chapekar added different flavour to the repertoire of Bharatnatyam- Arangetram. Dr Sucheta Chapekar, the renowned Bharatanatyam dancer introduced the novel idea of elaborating a single theme through the traditional format of the recital.
This made the recital enjoyable for the lay as well as knowledgeable for the dance lovers.
The Arangetram performance depicted lord Shiva and lord
Vishnu who are the symbol of purity and of beauty. The two artistes put forth the dance expressively through their performance. Both the dancers complimented each other very well. To accompany the duo was Mumbai Shankaranarayanan on mridangam, Balasubramanium R Sarma on violin and Somiya Nedungandi with her vocals. The amalgamation of all the artistes on the stage made the night worth attending it.
