Ancient dance form 'Perini Natyam' performed in Aurangabad
The culturally high event Sharangadev Samaroh in Aurangabad saw highlights of ancient musical scriptures through dance and music. Mahagami –a renowned city based dance gurukul highlighted the works of eminent personalities in the music and dance fraternity. One of the ancient dance form Perini Natyam was performed at this festival. It was the disciples of Guru Perini Prakash Group from Hyderabad that enlighten the audience with the ancient dance form that dates back to thousand years ago.

The dance form is set to have flourished during the reign of Emperors Ganapati Deva, Rudrama Devi and Prataparudra of Kaakateeya Dynasty from 10th to 13th Century A.D. The dance troupe inclusive of men and women beautifully put across the ancient temple dance tradition at the festival that not only entertained the audience but also put light on the country’s rich heritage.
