As Maharashtra Chases Higher Export Growth, Dr Omkaar Hari Maali’s 10th ‘Train the Eximpreneur’ Mobilises 2,000+ Marathi Entrepreneurs
India’s second-highest exporting state saw a significant grassroots push toward strengthening its export pipeline as more than 2,000 Marathi entrepreneurs attended the 10th edition of Train the Eximpreneur at NESCO, Mumbai. Conducted by Dr Omkaar Hari Maali, the three-day programme is now regarded as one of the largest Marathi-language export skilling initiatives in the country.
The event comes at a time when Maharashtra recorded exports worth ₹5.56 lakh crore in FY 2023–24, contributing 15.37% to India’s total outbound trade. The state ranks second in NITI Aayog’s Export Preparedness Index and leads nationally in export infrastructure and ecosystem readiness. Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburban, Pune and Thane together account for 74% of Maharashtra’s exports—underscoring the need to expand capacity among emerging entrepreneurs from across the state.
Udyami Maharashtra’s Train the Eximpreneur aims to bridge this gap by offering structured EXIM training exclusively in Marathi, with sessions covering product–market selection, packaging, pricing models, supplier verification, documentation, compliance, freight logistics and international buyer psychology. Across ten editions, it has built a strong following of first-generation traders and MSME aspirants from across Maharashtra.
Over the three days—Foundation, Discovery and Transformation—participants were trained through frameworks, live AI demonstrations, GST and logistics guidance, and case studies from successful exporters. The programme also honoured 110 Marathi achievers who collectively generated ₹103 crore under Dr Omkaar’s mentorship.
Dr Omkaar Hari Maali highlighted that the Marathi-only format aligns with Maharashtra’s long-standing culture of self-reliance and enterprise, rooted in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s economic vision of empowering local communities.
Dr Omkaar combined technical EXIM expertise with mindset-building and transformation-driven sessions, culminating in a structured roadmap for starting and scaling a global business. The event concluded with a community-wide call for entrepreneurship and a pledge to strengthen Maharashtra’s contribution to India’s export story.
Dr Omkaar has trained over 10,000 Marathi youth through Udyami Maharashtra and maintains business operations across Dubai, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
The next edition of Train the Eximpreneur is expected to be announced in early 2026.
