To celebrate the birth centenary year of
Satyajit Ray (1921-1992), Films Division of India has organised an online film festival, Masterstrokes, which will give movie buffs an opportunity to watch some of the best works of Ray.
Among other films, Films Division has also selected two films on the master himself, which will give viewers an opportunity to know him better. These include 'Ray' by
Gautam Ghose and 'Satyajit Ray' by
Shyam Benegal.
The online film festival, which will be on between May 2 and May 6, will showcase rare documentaries and a television film made by Ray. These include 'Sadgati' (1981), 'Inner Eye' - a documentary on acclaimed, visually challenged artist Benode Behari Mukherjee - and '
Rabindranath Tagore' - a documentary on Tagore - among others.
These films are being showcased on Films Division website and its YouTube channel.
