An evening of prose, poetry and music

A book club in the city recently organised an event at a Park Street venue to launch author Renu Roy’s book. In attendance were many eminent personalities from the city, including artist Keshav Roy, and singer Rohini Roy Chaudhuri.

While Keshav recited timeless verses of Shakespeare during the event, drawing parallels between Shakespeare’s themes and the challenges of today’s time, Rohini performed John Lennon’s iconic song, Imagine, and Srestha Das Choudhury presented a Kathak recital.

Gunnu Ahluwalia, who was also present at the event, said, “I believe poetry is a spontaneous overflow of emotions and something that touches our heart. It was an interactive evening filled with notable personalities talking about the book. It felt good to be a part of the evening.”
