“Sokol Tarar Majhe” lights up the city with a tribute to Rabindra Sangeet legends

An evening steeped in melody and nostalgia unfolded on Friday 29th as “Among All the Stars” brought Rabindra Sangeet enthusiasts together for a heartfelt tribute to the golden voices of the genre.

The evening saw Shirin Soraiya breathe new life into timeless renditions once immortalised by Hemanta Mukhopadhyay, Debabrata Biswas, Sagar Sen, Chinmoy Chattopadhyay, Suchitra Mitra, Kanika Bandyopadhyay, and Sumitra Sen — voices that have indelibly shaped Bengal’s cultural and musical tapestry.

With Somak Ghosh anchoring the evening, the performance blended reverence with freshness, offering listeners a seamless journey through Tagore’s timeless compositions. The night ended with a standing ovation, reaffirming the enduring power of Rabindra Sangeet to bridge generations through melody and memory.
