A sundowner on the turf, with the old and the new

Turf Club turned its greens into the city’s most elegant evening spot on Saturday. The occasion – a vibrant Racing Sundowner – which was about bringing together the old guard and the new, over good conversation, great music, and the timeless thrill of the turf, while inviting a younger crowd to take the reins of the sport’s future. Guests mingled over stories of the legacy sport.

The evening also showcased an exhibit on how new members could become fractional or combined horse owners -opening the gates of the racing world to a whole new league of enthusiasts.



Keeping the legacy alive
Speaking about the event, Farhan Elvis Ahmed, youngest racing committee member of the club, said, “Horse racing has always been more than just a sport, it’s a legacy built on passion, precision and pride. The only way to keep that spirit alive is by bringing in young enthusiasts who see themselves as part of this journey, not just as spectators but as custodians of a tradition that deserves to thrive. For us, the idea is simple -to bridge the past with the present.”
