A night of cinema and celebration unfolds at SRFTI auditorium
The premiere screening of The Nightmare, directed by Souvik De, was held on Saturday at 6 pm at the Main Auditorium of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, drawing the film’s cast, crew, and invited guests for an evening centred on celebration and cinematic appreciation.
The event marked the film’s official debut and saw the entire team come together for a screening that was warmly received by attendees. Members of the creative ensemble, including Chandreyee Ghosh, Shoumo Banerjee, and Sairiti Banerjee, were present alongside director Souvik De, reflecting the collaborative spirit behind the project.
Featuring an ensemble cast of Loknath Dey, Soumo Banerjee, Sairity Banerjee, Uttiyo Ghosh, Roze Alam, Indranil Chakraborty, Saikat S. Ray, Sukanta Halder, Wick Chanda Bhadra, Tirthankar Majumder, Subhadeep Sarkar, Arindam Dey, and Panna Majumdar, the film is presented by Srabanti Sankhanidhi.
Organisers described the evening as both a premiere and a moment of culmination for the team, bringing together cast, crew, supporters, and media to celebrate the journey behind the film. The screening underscored the project’s artistic intent and the collective effort that went into its making, while also highlighting the enthusiasm surrounding its release.
