A fair share of empowerment at Kolkata's Boi Mela
According to the details, on January 31, 2025, inmates from Bankura Jail will present a special prose and poetry session at the pavilion. On February 1, renowned footballer Sanjay Sen will be felicitated, followed by a talk on February 2 by Kakoli Kundu, Officer-in-Charge of the Women’s Cell, Howrah Police Station, on the experiences of trafficked women.
On February 6, rescued girls will participate in a cultural ceremony under the supervision of Kolkata Songbed. Famed singer Iman Chakraborty will be felicitated on February 7, the same day a group of blind women will stage the drama Onno Desh.
Renowned singer Arati Mukherjee will visit the pavilion on February 8, with Kohinoor Sen Barat and his team closing the day with their performance, Esho Basanta Esho.
Additionally, Nari Kontho, the only magazine from the Women’s Commission, will be launched on one of the fair days.
