Selena Gomez’s mother sends a note of solace to Taylor Swift over the Scooter Braun controversy

The international music industry is divided now. It all started after Taylor Swift learnt that her music catalog has been sold to Ithaca Holdings, a company that is owned by music manager Scooter Braun. The singer claimed that she has been bullied by Braun for years, and took to Tumblr to explain her dismay over the development — her songs with Big Machine Label Group ending up with Braun. He manages many bigwigs like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and the Zac Brown band.

Soon after the post, many singers came out, expressing their support for Taylor. These include artistes like Halsey, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, Selena Gomez, Rihanna and Adele.

Taylor also found support from her BFF Selena’s mother, Mandy Teefy. The latter took to Instagram with a post that read, “I wish I could give you a big hug right now! Thank you for speaking out about this and teaching future young artist about protecting themselves. I don’t understand the pleasure of power plays to simply hurt people! To deny you the option to own your blood, sweat and tears, especially as a young women who shared growing up in front of the world, is heartbreaking!! @yael I would love to have a mom to mom meeting in private, drink some tea and have some real talk!! XO.”
