Zayn Malik to produce boyband drama TV series

Singer Zayn Malik is producing a boyband drama series for

NBC

network.


The '

Pillowtalk

' hitmaker will serve as a producer for the show which mirrors his real-life experience as a former member of

One Direction

, reported Aceshowbiz.

Zayn, 23, is teaming up with TV producer Dick Wolf for the project which is titled '

Boys

'.

"Dick Wolf is a legend and the opportunity to work with him and NBC to create a compelling drama series is awesome,"

It will capture "all the excitement, competition and fun, but also provides an inside look into the pressure that follows," he added.
