John Paul Jones is known for his role as bassist and keyboardist for Led Zeppelin.
He helped give the band a more melodic side. But he recently spoke about the first attempts at recording tracks for Physical Graffiti at Headley Grange in East Hampshire, England with Ronnie Lane's Mobile Studio.

"We just liked the idea of going somewhere to write.It was about focus, really .Somewhere where you could go and write and when you were ready , record in the truck.

We would do it that way rather than being in a place where you write and then go to another place where you record, or being in a place where you record trying to write, which is the worst thing and the most expensive of course and studios are not that conducive to making music. And then, we could write and then record a bit and then write a bit more, but it was good to get the the kind of focus that comes in being in one place," says Jones.
