In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Swift conveyed her devastation, saying she is still grappling with "the horror" of the event. "These were just little kids at a dance class," she wrote. "I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families."

The singer, who was in London last month, condemned the attack that left two children dead, six critically wounded, and nine others injured. "The horror of yesterday's attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I'm just completely in shock," Swift stated.

Fans of Swift have rallied in support, raising more than £40,000 ($51,440) online to aid the families of the victims and the hospital where some of the children are being treated.

A 17-year-old male is in police custody on suspicion of murder and attempted murder following the incident at the "Taylor Swift yoga and dance workshop" in Southport, north of Liverpool, on Monday morning. The class was for children aged six to eleven.

"They were in the road, running from the nursery," said Bare Varathan, a nearby shop owner. "They had been stabbed, here, here, here, everywhere," he said, indicating the neck, back, and chest. According to reports, most of the victims were young girls.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the attack as "horrendous and deeply shocking." King Charles III sent his "condolences, prayers, and deepest sympathies" to those affected by the "utterly horrific incident." Prince William and his wife Catherine expressed their sorrow, stating, "As parents, we cannot begin to imagine what the families, friends, and loved ones of those killed and injured in Southport today are going through."
