Many musicians have done a lot of work during the lockdown and Subhi is no different. She released a few original singles including ‘Aagosh’, ‘Cage’, ‘

Naqaab

’, ‘

Mehfil

’ and 'In

My Way

' and now released her second English single ‘Wake Me Up’.

Her songs are related to her personal experience on breaking barriers, overcoming fears and rising above all the negativities the world is in right now.

Talking to Bombay Times about her song, she says, "'Wake Me Up' is a song about wanting to emerge from the darkness created by the fear of being lonely and lost in this

pandemic

. This was the last song I recorded in a professional studio in LA. It’s a song which is very relevant as many people must be feeling the way I do. I felt the story needed to be told as we all want to be ‘pulled out from the dark’.”

She adds, “Due to the pandemic, we realized we had to come up with a creative way of shooting the music video in a very short span of time with limited people. Since

Chicago

's weather was kind of warm in October, we decided to shoot outside for everyone's safety. This has been the smallest crew I have worked with on a music video - just three people. The whole song was shot in about three hours with just an iPhone!"
