: This English duo comprising Kye‘Foamo’
Gibbon and Matt ‘RackNRuin’
Robson-Scott might not be as well known globally as say a Deadmau5
and Skrillex, but they deserve to because they sure do have their chops right for when it comes to creating some really groovy dance music. Sirens is their debut album and, in seeking to make a strong statement in dishing out some infectious house sounds that work totally sweet on the ear, manage to combine the concise elements of pop sensibilities along with some big-style beats as well as plenty of breaks in between high points and drops in the music, with some lush, melodic textures.
To someone familiar with the evolution of electronic sounds, both in rock as well as dance, the music can, at times, sound formulaic.
After the opening section, which sounds like some muffled voices on loop, things get into track with the booming Coming Home, before blending into Ready For Your Love and Lover Like You. Both sound like preparatory pieces for the album’s highlight, which is Go All Night which can either be interpreted quite obviously as a euphemism for marathon sex sessions with your lover or being able to party all night. But before that is the sultry and sincere-sounding Here For You — thanks to a really beautiful vocal track by a female vocalist. Worth it for EDM
