Shaan has had a long association with the composer duo of

Nadeem-Shravan

. Together they have delivered hits like, 'Chain AapKo Mila’, ‘

Mujhe Tumse Mohabbat Hai

’ and many others. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Shaan poured his heart out as he reminisced about working with the ace composer duo. Excerpts:

Terming the opportunity to work with Nadeem-Shravan a 'priivilege', Shaan adds, "At the time when I started working with them,

Nadeem

ji had already left the country but he would always be available on the phone, of course. Shravan ji would be the one I would interact with, especially when it came to learning the song and understanding the emotions. Nadeem ji would be there on the phone telling me whenever I went wrong anywhere”, he recalls.

The singer had spent a lot of time with the late composer. "I must have sung at least 12-15 songs for them, some of which were very popular like, ‘Chain Aapko Mila’ from ‘

Hungama

’, ‘Mujhe Tumse Mohabbat Hain’ and others. Even if it was a dance track, they made sure that the melodies were very strong. They had their unique identity when it came to music. I think they really ruled the industry,” claims Shaan.

Apart from his discography, Shravan Rathod was also known for his unique style and humble nature. “Despite having such a prolific career, Shravan ji was so down-to-earth and loving. He was non-judgemental and encouraging; it was wonderful to be around him. He had a very flamboyant personality and loved dressing up. With his hairstyle and sunglasses, he had a certain swag about him. It is hard to imagine that we won’t be seeing him anymore. I will always remember him very fondly and I already miss him a lot. It is one of those terrible losses that we have had to deal with during this pandemic. We lost SP Balasubramaniam ji, and my dear friend Wajid Khan too,” Shaan rues.
