Sean Diddy Combs' 'lotion up' request to guests at party raises eyebrows amidst sex trafficking case
As music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs awaits trial on charges of sex trafficking and reketeering, a video from a star-studded part, just one day after being honored with a BET Lifetime Achievement Award has gone viral.
The glamorous event, held at "Club Love" — Diddy's private club within his Los Angeles estate — drew A-list guests including Russell Simmons, Kimora Lee Simmons, Mary J. Blige, Lil’ Kim, and Young Jeezy.
However, it wasn't just the starry guest list, but a request made by the host that sparked attention. According to video obtained by TMZ, Diddy takes the mic to encourage his guests to "make sure your breath is fresh" and to "be lotion’d up."
Diddy also encouraged the women in the crowd to hit the dance floor, even if their dates for the evening didn’t feel like dancing. While the comments initially seemed playful, they have taken on a new context in light of serious allegations against Diddy.
Federal prosecutors have charged him in connection to hosting infamous "freak off" parties, where illicit activities were conducted. Reports indicate that during a raid of his properties, authorities confiscated over 1,000 bottles of baby oil as part of their investigation.
The timing of Diddy's lotion remark has raised eyebrows, given the ongoing legal scrutiny surrounding his personal life. Diddy is currently facing multiple charges and is being held in jail in New York as the trial proceeds. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Early this week, an attorney said he is representing 120 accusers who have come forward with sexual misconduct allegations against Diddy. Houston attorney Tony Buzbee said he expects lawsuits to be filed within the next month, with most expected to be filed in New York and Los Angeles. Buzbee described the victims as 60 males and 60 females, and that 25 were minors at the time of the alleged misconduct. One individual alleged he was 9 years old when he was abused. The allegations cover a period from 1991 to 2024.
