Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the disgraced singer who is accused of heinous crimes, has decided to fight the defence by alleging that he was intoxicated while committing the crimes. While the legal team has lined up a doctor to testify in court that he had a ‘mental condition bearing on the issue of guilt,’ the federal prosecutors think it’s irrelevant.

According to the official documents obtained by TMZ, prosecutors state that the legal team needs to submit a proper notice before offering any ‘evidence of the effects of drugs and alcohol on a defendant's memory or cognitive function.’
The headstrong prosecutors are fighting back, alleging that the potential testimony of the doctor, who is also a Columbia University professor, would be considered as a clue that the accused ‘can’t control his behaviour.’
Additionally, the doctor in question never performed any tests to evidently prove that Diddy was intoxicated. Instead, they would be arguing based on his experience with other people. Hence, the doctor’s opinion on whether he was ‘lucid’ is irrelevant.
Moreover, the federal prosecutors are accusing the ‘Bad Boy for Life’ rapper of drugging the victims of the ‘freak-offs.’ However, the question arises whether Diddy himself was intoxicated during the alleged crimes.
The prosecutors also seek to block the testimony of the expert for the forensic video, where Diddy was seen hitting his ex-girlfriend in the hotel lobby. Previously, Judge Arun Subramanium stated that the video will be considered as part of the evidence.

Diddy’s legal team tried to exclude the video’s involvement in the trial set, however, the judge argued that the lawyers did not give a strong enough reason. When the video was obtained by CNN - and they released it, Diddy apologised for his behaviour stating, “My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” adding that he sought therapy.
