Sacramento radio station bans all Kanye West music

Following Kanye West's bizarre rant during his show in

Sacramento

, a local radio station announced that it would not be playing the rapper's

music

for a very long time.

, the music director of KHHM Hot 103.5, delivered a lengthy monologue stating his disappointment after the rapper abruptly ended his show after 30 minutes.


In a YouTube clip uploaded by the radio station, the DJs started playing Kanye's 'Fade' before Marshall stopped the record.

"Kanye, this is a really good record - alright, stop this stupid record," he said.

"That's the last time you're going to hear Kanye West's 'Fade' on this radio station - also the last time you hear any Kanye West song on this radio station for a very long time."

Marshall continued addressing the Sacramento show and laying out some reasons for the ban.

"Everybody came out to have a great time Saturday night. A lot of fans in the building, a lot of people had spent a lot of hard earned money, bro, a lot of hard earned time," he said.

"Time is something we can't get back. Everyone can get a refund back, but you can't get your time back. You can't get the emotion back that you were gonna put into that show, to watch someone that you love... This is called a moment, folks; these are what make our lives. Moments and memories to share with each other and stuff. And he took that from people Saturday night."

Many Sacramento radio stations have apparently followed in the footsteps of KHHM to ban Kanye's music.

Local throwback hip-hop and R&B station V101 FM said they would be taking a break from Kanye's music for a week or two, and would reevaluate how their audience feels.

Meanwhile, 107.9 The End said that they didn't frequently play Kanye's music anymore to begin with, but added, "We (the radio station) hope that Kanye can take this time away from touring to get back to being the artist we have all learned to appreciate over the years."
