Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter releases an alternate cover for her upcoming album ‘Man’s Best Friend,’ and declared that god approves of the new cover.
About the alternate version
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the 26-year-old uploaded her pictures and announced the alternate covers for her anticipated seventh studio album. Donning an embellished gown, she posted black and white photographs, in which she held a man’s arm in a swarm. The men’s faces are not visible, but the light highlights just a side of them, while the ‘Busy Woman’ singer looks charming in the outfit.
The criticism
In the caption of the post, Sabrina gave a subtle nod to the mass criticism of her original album cover. Previously, when the singer announced the album, she posted a picture in which she was kneeling in front of the man, and he was holding her hair, which was interpreted as a dog on a leash. Many netizens argued that the ‘Manchild’ singer made a degrading move and allegations of promoting abuse.
However, many of the Carpenter’s fans defended her, stating that she must have had a reason, or the man in the picture might be her in the suit. The fans advised the netizens to avoid coming to a definite conclusion, and give her a chance to explain about the album, and further, her songs.
After Sabrina announced the seventh studio album, she addressed the previous criticism the critics had made about her concert shows. Many of her songs, dance steps, and positions were published online, and it started a trend; however, the critics complained about it.
Sabrina Carpenter criticised the critics...
In a profile interview with Rolling Stone, Carpenter said, “It’s always so funny to me when people complain.” “They’re like, ‘All she does is sing about this.’ But those are the songs that you’ve made popular. Clearly, you love s-x. You’re obsessed with it. It’s in my show,” she continued, adding that women are constantly picked apart and scrutinised in every capacity.
