Prince's old band The Revolution pay tribute to him

Legendary singer Prince's old band The Revolution paid tribute to their founder at Minneapolis' First Avenue club, where the band frequently played in the 1980s.

Prince's former protege and 'Purple Rain' star Apollonia made an appearance for the encore. The set was filled with five other 'Purple Rain' songs and ended with the album's final two tracks, 'Baby I'm a Star' and 'Purple Rain.'

The iconic performer died on April 21 and the band had announced that they would reunite to pay homage to their frontman.

"We have decided after spending three or four days together now grieving over the loss of Prince, that we would like to come out and do some shows. We want to let you know we'll be there soon," Melvoin had said in the video announcement.
