On Wednesday, speaking to TMZ Hip Hop, Chris King, a St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office said, “We don't believe the facts in this case warrant the issuing of charge.” Meanwhile, Cornell Haynes II’s attorney Scott Rosenblum, explained that a “fair and impartial review of the evidence” was done and after that, the prosecuting attorney Wesley Bell, and his office decided not to press any charges.

For the unversed, the Grammy-winning musician Cornell Haynes II was arrested early on August 7. It was the same day, when the rapper turned victorious on several jackpots at Hollywood Casino & Hotel in Maryland Heights, Missouri.

Reports suggest that an officer assigned to the casino came up to Nelly and told him a search warrant search is issued when someone wins over a certain amount of money. Though Nelly's attorney said that no such warrant is required, further investigation revealed that a warrant was issued back in December by a judge that tracked back to a 2018 citation for operating a vehicle without proof of insurance.

All this led to a further investigation which led the trooper to allegedly find four ecstasy pills in Nelly's possession. As far as the insurance case is concerned, it was taken care of after the rapper handed over proof that he had it.
