Country & Western: This album is the fifth soundtrack album for the American musical drama television series Nashville, created by Academy Award winner Callie Khouri and starring Connie Britton as country music superstar Rayna Jaymes and Hayden Panettiere as new star Juliette Barnes.has enjoyed crossover audience appeal among viewers while also introducing new talent to people. While the show deals with the friendships music scene in Nashville, the music on this album is full of warmth and earthiness. If Your Heart Can Handle It features mellow, smooth vocals and works as a great love song, just as Lies Of The Lonely is a song about willful surrender to the person you have given your heart to. Perhaps the catchiest number of the album is Disappear, which Hayden Panettiere sings. It combines a light country style with a twangy banjo to make a nice pairing. Highlights include The Most Beautiful Girl In The World which is somewhat midway into the CD, the evocatively-titled Gasoline And Matches and If It's Love. While the soundtrack is essentially a showcase for C&W artistes, quite of the few of the tracks are slow-to-mid-paced numbers. Another think is the duration of the music. Curiously, the running length falls just short of 36 minutes Nonetheless, if you like good country music, go for this one.
