Rock: If Ghost Stories was not necessarily as ambitious as their previous albums, 'A Head Full Of Dreams' in a way, sees the band make a somewhat exuberant statement. And this time, they’ve brought a bunch of friends — Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo, Khatia Buniatishvili and Merry Clayton — along to collaborate with on some of their tracks.

This has had a catalytic effect on their music, infusing the songs with a different vibe. Oh, and is that a sample of US President
Barack Obama singing 'Amazing Grace?' Obama delivered his lyrical eulogy at a memorial service for the slain preacher and state legislator Clementa Pinckney, who was killed along with 8 other parishioners during a bible study class at Charleston’s Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on June 17. Beyoncé adds a soulful touch to 'Hymn For The Weekend' while the hottest singer out of Sweden in recent times, Tove Lo, drops by to help out Chris Martin and the gang, on 'Fun.' The song contains snatches of lyrics that could refer to the singer’s much-publicised ‘uncoupling’ from Gwyneth Paltrow. And speaking of the latter, she also does guest vocals on the ballad 'Everglow.' This one is more obviously about Martin and Paltrow. With lyrics like “so if you love someone, you should let them know/ oh the light that you left me will everglow” the reference is quite direct. And while the album isn’t without its arena-rock standards that are great for singing along too, it’s also danceable. This gives the album a good crossover appeal. Whether you’re a fan or not, a worthy addition to your playlist.
