Liam Payne Case: Waiter Arrested in Argentina for Alleged Drug Supply

New developments have come in the case of Liam Payne’s demise. The waiter Braian Nahuel Paiz has been arrested in Argentina under serious allegations.

Reports state that he was apprehended on January 3, 2025, at his residence near Buenos Aires. Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office previously accused Paiz of supplying drugs to Payne, following which he has been arrested. Now it appears there are possibility of him serving anywhere between four and 15 years in prison. Meanwhile, Piaz’s attorney, Fernando Madeo Facente, continues to assert Paiz’s innocence.

According to People, Paiz has denied all charges against him. He claimed to not sell any drugs to Liam Payne in an interview with Telefe Noticias back in November. In the same interview, he confessed to taking drugs together but mentioned he did not supply them, nor did he ever accept money from Payne.

Liam Payne, 31, passed away on October 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room at the CasaSur hotel in Argentina. Five individuals were charged in the case, and Paiz is one of them.

Alongside Paiz, three additional individuals are facing manslaughter charges. These charges arise from claims that they failed to fulfill their responsibilities in caring for the singer before his fall. Nores is accused of not providing help to Payne when he was clearly struggling with his addiction problems, while Martin is said to have permitted Payne to go back to his hotel room. Grassi, on the other hand, is alleged to have told others to "drag" Payne to his room, despite him being unable to stand.

Officials have verified that Liam Payne was in a vulnerable condition at the time of his passing, having consumed several substances, including alcohol, cocaine, and an antidepressant. This mix of drugs may have played a role in his loss of consciousness, which ultimately resulted in his deadly fall.

Liam's funeral was held on November 20, 2024, in the English countryside, where his loved ones, including his girlfriend Kate Cassidy and former bandmates from One Direction, gathered to say their final goodbyes.
