This week, a judge ordered Kanye to attend an in-person deposition related to Provo’s lawsuit. The court also imposed a $500 sanction on the rapper, which must be paid within 30 days. The judge has set a firm deadline for the deposition to take place no later than April 29.

Provo’s case stems from alleged incidents of discrimination and wrongful termination during his time working for West’s Donda Academy. Despite repeated efforts, Provo and his legal team have struggled to get West to comply with deposition requests. According to documents obtained by InTouch Weekly, Provo filed for sanctions after West continued to evade legal proceedings without offering alternative dates.

Provo and his attorney have expressed concerns that West may attempt to avoid appearing in person or request a virtual deposition. Their apprehensions are fueled by West’s behavior in previous depositions, including wearing a Halloween mask and exhibiting what they described as inappropriate conduct.

“Given Kanye’s past behavior, we are requesting a court order to ensure he attends the deposition in person,” said Provo’s attorney.

Provo’s lawsuit alleges a toxic work environment marked by racially discriminatory practices. He claims West demanded that Donda employees dispose of books related to Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X and other prominent Black leaders. Provo alleges that West often expressed negative opinions about Black leaders, which he found deeply offensive as a proud Black man.

The suit also claims that West displayed favoritism toward non-Black employees while being abrupt and demeaning toward Black staff. Provo further accused West of demanding that employees shave their heads. When Provo refused, he was allegedly terminated without cause.

Provo also claims he was paid significantly less than non-Black employees working at the same level. Additionally, he alleges that West discriminated against him due to his dreadlocks and Muslim faith. Provo’s responsibilities during his tenure included working security at Donda Academy and overseeing Yeezy-related duties at West’s Sunday Service and warehouse.

This latest lawsuit is just one of several legal battles West is facing. His former personal assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, has also accused the rapper of misconduct and has faced similar challenges in pursuing legal action against him.

While Kanye’s legal team has yet to comment publicly on these latest developments, the growing number of allegations paints a troubling picture. Whether the rapper will comply with the court’s orders remains to be seen, but the legal pressure on him is undoubtedly intensifying.
