The film's music was done by Germaine Franco.Franco became the first woman to score a Disney animated feature film with 'Encanto'. Franco, who is of Mexican American descent, began composing as a student at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where she graduated in 1984.'Encanto' follows a multigenerational Colombian family, the Madrigals, led by a matriarch whose children and grandchildren, except for Mirabel Madrigal, receive magical gifts from a miracle that helps them serve the people in their rural community called the Encanto.

It isn’t just on television where awards show producers are tough with the music that not-so-subtly tells a winner to wrap things up and get off the stage.It was a big part of the pre-telecast streamed online, too. After all, there were around 80 Grammys to give out in only three hours.So it no doubt made for some bruised feelings. If artists didn’t take the hint and wrap things up, an offscreen announcer might even move directly into the next award. The New York Youth Symphony on Sunday won the Grammy for best orchestral performance -- the first youth orchestra to do so.The kids in the ensemble ranged in age from 12 to 22 when they recorded the album during the pandemic's darkest days.At Sunday's show celebrating the best in music, they beat some of the world's most elite orchestras -- including the Berlin and Los Angeles philharmonics, with conductors John Williams and Gustavo Dudamel, respectively -- to take home the prize."I'm speechless," conductor Michael Repper, 32, told AFP backstage after accepting the award.
