However, his Grammy win has irked the singer-songwriter, Chris Brown.Brown took to his social media after Glasper's win to put out a post which projects Brown as a sore loser.Sharing a screenshot of his Google search of Glasper, which described the 44-year-old Houston native as "an American pianist, record producer, songwriter and musical arranger with a career that bridges several different musical and artistic genres," Brown captioned the picture: "BRO WHO THE F-K IS THIS?"The post received widespread flak on social media by the users, who dissed Brown for being a domestic abuser and praised Glasper for his spotless reputation.

The 65th annual Grammys gala began early Monday morning in Los Angeles with a performance from reggaeton megastar Bad Bunny, as top nominee Beyonce was poised to break the all-time record for the most awards ever.Her love letter to club music "Renaissance" propelled her to the front of the Grammy pack with nine nominations, and she won two trophies in the pre-show.She has several more chances as the main show begins, and will become the winningest artist ever if she wins two more.Bad Bunny is another A-lister up for major awards, along with Taylor Swift, Adele and Harry Styles.

It isn’t just on television where awards show producers are tough with the music that not-so-subtly tells a winner to wrap things up and get off the stage.It was a big part of the pre-telecast streamed online, too. After all, there were around 80 Grammys to give out in only three hours.So it no doubt made for some bruised feelings. If artists didn’t take the hint and wrap things up, an offscreen announcer might even move directly into the next award. And in a big theater, sometimes winners had a long walk to the stage.Which brings us to the unfortunate Molly Tuttle and her band, the Golden Highway, winner of a Grammy for best bluegrass album. She didn’t even make it up to the stage in time to pick up the trophy. Producers were on to the next award. Even though she got there late, she was out of luck.

50 YEARS OF HIP-HOP

The Grammys marking the 50th anniversary of hip-hop brought out icons like Grandmaster Flash, a pioneer in DJing, who said he was “like a happy granddad.”“It’s been 50 years. ... I can remember when this was just recreation, going to the park, taking our makeshift sound systems in a supermarket cart, going to your nearest park, plugging in and just doing block parties and here we are now,” he said. “It’s unarguably the biggest music on planet Earth.”

The Grammys added five new categories to this year's awards slate: songwriter of the year, non-classical; best spoken word poetry album; alternative music performance; Americana performance and score soundtrack for video games and other interactive media.

New York Youth Symphony wins Grammy for debut album

The New York Youth Symphony on Sunday won the Grammy for best orchestral performance -- the first youth orchestra to do so.The kids in the ensemble ranged in age from 12 to 22 when they recorded the album during the pandemic's darkest days.At Sunday's show celebrating the best in music, they beat some of the world's most elite orchestras -- including the Berlin and Los Angeles philharmonics, with conductors John Williams and Gustavo Dudamel, respectively -- to take home the prize."I'm speechless," conductor Michael Repper, 32, told AFP backstage after accepting the award.
