David Schwimmer criticises Kanye West for his hateful posts; urges Elon Musk to ban the artist

Kanye West has been given the title of ‘the controversial rapper’ - for a reason! As if asking his wife, Bianca Censori to ‘make a scene’ on the red carpet of the 67th Grammy did not make enough headlines, the ‘Runaway’ rapper made some blatantly questionable posts, hurting marginalized communities and siding with the debatable political leader. The response? Not only the regular users of X but also his fandom decided to troll the American singer.

David Schwimmer, the ‘Friends’ actor, shared an undeviating post on his Instagram account, urging Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform ‘X’, to stop giving him the platform to spread hate speech. He wrote, “We can’t stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate filled, ignorant bile… but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr. Musk.”

Additionally, he mentioned how his followers are twice the number of Jews existing, which may result in life-threatening violence against them. The ‘Intelligence’ star wrote, “Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That’s twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence. His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews.”


In the year 2022, Kanye was banned from social media for about 8 months for posting Swastika and a few posts which cost him a partnership with Adidas, and his career. While the content moderation policies have been relaxed, the users questioned the boundaries.

Schwimmer concluded his post by questioning Kanye West’s atrocious intentions of declaring himself a Nazi and the audience’s unserious response, “I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that he identifies as a Nazi (which implies he wants to exterminate ALL marginalized communities including his own) or the fact that there is not sufficient OUTRAGE to remove and ban him from all social media at this point.” He added, “Silence is complicity.”

While posting, not only did he write clear hate messages for the community, he also posted another message which said that he would not apologize to Jews, “I’m never apologizing for my Jewish comments.”
