Billy Cyrus reveals his new lady love, Elizabeth Hurley, reached out to him after his divorce from Tisha Cyrus

Billy Ray Cyrus is enjoying his time with his new girlfriend, Elizabeth Hurley. After publicly declaring their relationship on Easter, the artist admitted to being the happy he'd been in a long time.

During his interview on The Ty Bentil Show, the Grammy-winning musician said that he met Hurley when he was going through a difficult time in his life. The 'Achy Breaky Heart' singer revealed that Hurley sent him an unexpected note during his divorce from Tish Cyrus and Firerose, with whom he had been married for a year. The musician is also the father of five children, whom he shares with Tish Cyrus.

Billy Cyrus shared that at the time when he received the text, he did not even have the actress's number.

“I felt like, ‘Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?’ For me, at a certain point it was like, you can’t get knocked down any flatter than lying on your back when life is kicking you,” he said.

He further explained, “And in this moment... a friend reached out.” The singer revealed that the former Gossip Girl star’s text read, “Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and I just wanted you to know I’m in your corner; you’ve got a friend in your corner.”

In the ongoing conversation with the host, the country singer revealed, “So, I text back, I go, ‘Who is this?’ And it’s like, ‘Elizabeth Hurley.’ Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most… this friend who made me laugh.”

When Elizabeth Hurley dropped her lovey-dovey picture with the singer, her son, Damian, seemed happy for the both of them as he commented on his mom’s post with a celebratory emoji accompanied with a heart emoji.

When asked about his new girlfriend, the singer described her as a “a great human being” and said that she reminds him of his longtime friend Dolly Parton.

Billy Ray Cyrus was previously married to Tisha Cyrus, from whom he split after 28 years of marriage.
